Botanicals

Encased botanicals (flowers, leaves, seeds) are hand-selected, prepared, and preserved then carefully added to our jewelry. While Queen Anne's Lace is Denise's favorite, she's always looking for the new and delicate foliage to add. Lavender, Ferns, Mustard seeds, Privet, and Flowering Kale are just some of the varieties used.

Cold Enamel

Resin jewelry, or cold enamel, all starts here - the somewhat experimental mixing of resin and colorants to get just the right color. Some pieces just need that perfect pop of color. Others get a bit of sparkle from mica or glitter. Some items include botanicals or found objects. Even more complex pieces include a combinations of cold enamel and cold porcelain processes (crystal clay). But this is where it starts, mixing, and hoping, for the perfect color.

Impressions

Creating jewelry with impressions is always a delight for Denise. Using that perfect vintage button or delicate fern to create a mold is where the process starts. Next, mixing the perfect clay colors to use in the molds. Some will then get just a light dusting of mica powders to highlight the contours. Others will be layered with colored resin for a faux Wedgewood or Cameo affect.
